Complete Walkthrough of Level 4 (Flashing Omega)

==You can start from this level without missing stuff from previous level(s) if you can access the secret level.==

This level, honestly, is one of the hardest! Start by shooting at a secret door behind you, getting a Super Laser boost. Then destroy both Logikills on the left and the right. The left drops a Helix Cannon, while the right drops 4 Guided Missiles. Shoot at the right of the Exit. A hidden door reveals 4 Concussion Missiles. Take them, and shoot at the left. Another hidden door reveals another Super Laser boost. Take it, and shoot at the floor. You should find a locked door below the Super Laser. Remember this place.

Next, blow the S.P.I.K.E. up. Take the Omega Cannon if you could. Shoot with either your lasers or your Omega to kill the M.A.X. up there without triggering the robots to attack you. Now go down to the hostage door. If you have the Omega Cannon, shoot through the door to the 2 S.P.I.K.E. within. (If you don't, destroy the door and go in to kill them.) Then blow up the door, rescuing the 4 hostages inside and getting 2 Mega Missiles. Next shoot at the wall behind the hostage door. You should find another locked door.

Going back up, look at the left, and you should see a brighter wall. It is another secret door. Open it, and you'll get 4 Smart Mines. Below is a switch. Shoot it, and this switch opens the door at the hostage room (it will remain opened). Before you leave, shoot again on the wall, and you should see a cloak. Save this for the boss.

Now, try to pick out as many robots in the boss room as possible. The robot maker will be triggered when you go back through from the energy center. (If you are not playing on Insane, you may try to disable it to get back to the Exit later more quickly.) Shoot at the far end of the force fields of the boss room. You should see another locked door.

If you go into the boss room, you will discover that to the left of the boss room there is a switch (Doors opened!), and to the right is another locked door. Of course, you should not hit the switch yet. Next go back to the hostage room, and you will see that the locked door has been opened. Get the Mega Missile inside. Look up, and you should see an Earthshaker Missile. To the left, as you can see, there is a small space. The trick is that there is a switch on the floor of this space, and this switch opens the door to the right of the boss room.

Even if you have the Phoenix Cannon from the previous level, you will not have sufficient time to get there before it closes. The trick is to drop a Smart Mine. Using missile explosions (preferably Concussion Missiles), get the Smart Mine behind the grate, and to the small space. SAVE GAME. Just to test, shoot the mine and see if the trackers hit the switch. If it doesn't, restore game and adjust its position with more missiles. If it does, also restore game, and now head for the boss room.

Now all you can do is to wait for the mine to explode. (If you are anxious, you can guide a missile there and hit the mine instead.) And by the way, if you wanted to use a guided missile to hit the switch, I'll say that the curve is too sharp to turn and you will hardly succeed. Once the switch has been hit, the door to the right of the boss room will be opened. Guide a missile there (through the force fields). You will see 4 Concussion Missiles and a switch. Hit the switch with the missile. (The door will close soon.) It says Wall Opened! (You'll know what wall later.) The 4 Concussion Missiles is really a clue that you will be able to access the room later.

Then go back to the locked door where you got your Super Laser Level 6. Guide a missile to the left of the boss room. It says "Doors opened!", and the door below has been opened (it will close). Put a marker so that it stays open. (Note the word "Door*s* opened!" The 2nd door that is opened is the one at the end of the force fields. It will stay open. There is a Fiddler inside.) Look through the grating, and you'll see a hostage and some weapons. Guide a missile through the grate, and at the end you will see a switch. Hit it. "Wall opened!" The wall to the secret teleporter has now been opened.

Then what is the wall that has previously been opened? Well, there is actually a wall in the previous room. If you hadn't hit the switch, you would have failed to hit the switch to open that grate at the teleporter for there will be a wall blocking your way.

Go back up, destroy the Fiddler, and now you can head for Secret Level 2.

Once you have come back, go to the boss room again. The door at the far end is opened. There is a switch inside. Shoot it, and now the force fields will have been deactivated. Get the Cloaking Device, and go in to kill the boss.

Once you have destroyed the boss, head for the Exit. Just before you leave, look at the ceiling inside the Exit. You should see a switch. Hit it, and a wall has been opened. Now you can access to the hostage and weapons behind the grate! (Now you will know why I asked you to put a marker there. You can only access to it if the door doesn't close.) Go through it, and you will receive an Earthshaker Missile and an Extra Life at the end of the corridor. As you go through it, a wall will open and you can see 4 Concussion Missiles and a broken switch. That's the room which the door has been triggered by the Smart Mine, remember? (That's why it is possible to access this room after the door has closed.) Now grab all your stuff, and rush for the Exit (there is little time...).

This level was really hard, wasn't it? Now let's hope you are up to the challenge for Level 5 (Gauss and Mercury).
